NEED
Children
with serious and chronic illnesses endure constant difficulties. Limited
mobility, regular hospital visits, time away from school, financial
instability, and painful physical conditions all work to lessen their quality
of life. Other needs also exist, such as:
- Siblings report feeling disconnected from ill siblings and parents during hospitalization
|
- The divorce rate of parents with a disabled, terminally ill, or chronically ill child is between 75–85%
|
- During hospitalization, different forms of play are proven to be of high therapeutic value for ill children, thus contributing to physical and emotional well-being and to their recovery.
|
The programs of the Kluber Family Foundation provide resources,
support, and opportunities that improve the lives of these children and their
families.
