On select home games throughout the
season, Corey and Amanda usually host a child from DFW-area children’s
hospitals at Globe Life Field for a dream day at the ballpark. As part of this
longstanding program, the child and his or her family and friends will meet
Corey and Amanda, watch batting practice on the field, shop at the team shop,
enjoy a classic ballpark dinner and stay for the game.
However, this year’s program looks
a little bit different due to the MLB’s coronavirus rules. Corey and
Amanda have elected to host Kluber’s Kids At-Home Parties instead. The Kluber’s
first at-home participant was Adrian, who enjoyed the program on Tuesday
Adrian, a Ft. Worth resident, is
very thankful to be the first Kluber’s Kid this season. Adrian is a huge
Rangers fan and enjoys playing baseball, too. He is an outstanding 2nd
Baseman. He is 11 and has battled kidney disease from the age of 3. He had a
full kidney replacement at age 10. The donor? His very own brother!
He was only back in school about 60
days this year before the COVID quarantine shut the school down. He will
continue with online classes this fall. On August 18th, Adrian had
his first day back to school and wasn’t too thrilled with that virtual
experience. However, on that same day, the Kluber Family Foundation was able to
celebrate Adrian’s strength!
Adrian and his family received an
at-home baseball-themed watch party to enjoy the Rangers vs. Padres game on
Tuesday afternoon. The watch party was catered by Pluckers Wing Bar and came
complete with a #28 Kluber jersey and a special video message from Corey and
In addition, Adrian and his family
also received Kluber’s Kids t-shirts, Rangers hats, cardboard cutouts at the
Globe Life Field, and vouchers for tickets to a Rangers game next season. To
top it off, Adrian and his family were highlighted as part of the Rangers
broadcast during the game.
This special experience brought
smiles to the faces of Adrian and his family during what has been a challenging
year. The Kluber Family Foundation was honored to treat Adrian to our first
Kluber’s Kids program of the 2020 MLB season!
